We are intensely interested in how we can use marketing strategies and tactics to help them achieve those goals. And by engaging deeply, thoughtfully and creatively in their aims and aspirations, we enter into collaborative relationships and productive partnerships. Here's a sampling of our relationships and the work that has resulted from them.
The relationship between The Bloom Agency and Southern Community Bank and Trust is a long and successful one. It began in 2001, when the bank was only five years old. From the beginning, we have worked closely with Southern Community to develop a unique identity for the bank, helping it stand out in a financial market where numerous national, regional, and community banks compete for attention. At first using billboards and print ads and later TV, radio, and other channels, we have positioned Southern Community as a small, local bank that is willing to take on the giants that surround them by offering better, more personal service.
Our relationship with Forsyth Tech began in 2006. The school came to us with several goals: increase enrollment of fulltime students, make different audiences (business owners, high school students, job seekers) aware of programs available at the school that could benefit them, raise the school's profile in the community, and boost employee morale by improving the school's "image." Using a variety of different media, we have addressed each of these goals successfully.
Tallgrass Beef is a supplier of 100% grass-fed beef to customers across the country. Founded by famed broadcaster Bill Kurtis, Tallgrass is part of a growing trend in healthy eating, and came to us hoping to break out of the pack of grass-fed beef companies to become an industry leader in both sales and reputation. In what is still a relatively new relationship, we are currently working with them to achieve both goals through a careful plan of re-branding, targeted marketing and extensive public relations.
Anderson Bauman Tourtellot Vos is a professional services firm for which we function as the outsourced marketing department. Our relationship is one of trust and affection. We know all the people, and though ABTV has offices in Charlotte, Atlanta, and Jacksonville in addition to its Greensboro headquarters, we all get together for quarterly meetings. Our marketing plans, updated each year, have been very effective. We design them to show what initiatives will be undertaken in each quarter, and we review and fine tune those plans at the quarterly meeting. Peter Tourtellot, the managing director, and the whole group of professionals keep us informed of new developments and we find ways to capitalize on all of them. Our collaboration is smooth and enjoyable, and characterized by mutual respect and admiration.
Headquartered in Winston-Salem, Primo Water Corporation is the nation's leading supplier of bottled water dispensers and developer of an eco-friendly Zero Waste bottle exchange program for their purified, mineral-enhanced water. Our relationship with Primo began in 2010 and is ongoing, as we work with them to develop a total marketing strategy involving both business-to-consumer and business-to-business messaging. We are utilizing a wide variety of marketing tools to express the benefits of their products.
Scan-Optics, with headquarters in Manchester, Connecticut, and a small sales force that is spread across the United States, is one of our long distance relationships. We were proud to be selected as their marketing partner, as the other agencies under consideration were all much closer to them. Although we do have some face to face meetings, working for Scan-Optics has caused us to expand our comfort zone and become comfortable with teleconferences and online presentations.
The Bloom Agency promoted the annual Piedmont Craftsmen's Fair for five consecutive years — an unusual length of service for pro bono work. We just could not resist! We love the "product" — the Fair is one of Winston-Salem's long-standing cultural events, the merchandise is spectacular, the craftsmen are a great group, and the preview night, for which we have been the sponsor, is a lively occasion. And we love working with the professional staff of Piedmont Craftsmen. Talk about folks who can truly appreciate fine design and creative concepts! They never cease to thank us and praise us. What can we say? This is a love affair.
NCFI (North Carolina Foam Industries) is a manufacturer of spray foam insulation, which offers superior insulating power versus fiberglass and other types of insulation. What made this an especially challenging relationship was the need to speak to many diverse audiences — consumers planning to build a home, contractors looking for an alternative to standard fiberglass insulation, spray foam installers looking for a better supplier, and architects designing "green" buildings. In different ways and through different venues, we found ways to tell the NCFI story to all of them.
Our relationship with Salem Logistics, a third-party logistics (3PL) company, largely involved re-branding rather than marketing. Our primary function was to give the company's marketing materials a new, more modern look that would reflect the cutting edge technologies they utilized. In the very competitive 3PL industry, our work helped set them apart.
